Altec 620a Tribute
Like our customers, here at Audio Eyra, we love music. It’s what gets us up in the morning and keeps us fired up all day long. At any given time here at the shop, over the saws, sanders, mills and machines, music rides atop the noise of production.
We are extremely excited to present our tribute to the Altec Lansing 620a speaker enclosure.
Originally designed for the 604-8G Duplex Loudspeaker from Altec, these robust cabinets enhance the full-range response of the speaker in any room. Rich and deep bass, sultry mids, and smooth and accurate highs are pronounced throughout the entire response range of the drivers.
Audio Eyra has made some minor improvements to the original design. These changes take away the need for fiberglass panels and add additional bracing and internal diffusion.
Each set of these speakers will be built with the customer in mind. The listener can choose virtually any finish or aesthetic within their imagination. We believe that this investment should be as visually striking as it is audibly breath-taking. Exotic painted cabinets or raw wood surfaces provide a near limitless pallet for the customer to enjoy.
Additionally, we have sourced some NOS time-capsule drivers that can be added at the customer’s request. We currently have a set of brand-new, never-used, Altec 605A’s with crossovers that will be presented in a beautiful exotic hardwood cabinet. We will display photos when finished.
Shown is a set of painted cabinets loaded with NOS 604D’s manufactured in December of 1956.

Painted cabinets loaded with Great Plains Audio 604E Series II, start at $34,500.00. NOS Altec drivers are available on a limited basis with additional cost. Exotic hardwood cabinets loaded with the GPA 604E start at $76,400.00. Typical lead time is 6 weeks for painted cabinets and 8 weeks or more for hardwood cabinets. Variance may be created due to design complexity.
